About the role
Blue Wing Care is looking for casual Disability Support Workers in Cairns to support people to achieve their individual goals and maintain a quality lifestyle. Support takes place in a person's home or out in the community. Goals vary from person to person and can include help with cleaning and maintaining their home, personal care, meals, community access, recreation, communication and education.
What you will do
- Support clients to keep choice and control over their goals, following their individual support plan
- Keep a record of the duties you undertake
- Work flexibly across weekdays, afternoons, evenings, overnights, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality at all times
- Bring a proactive, positive approach to supporting clients
- Work to the Blue Wing and NDIS Codes of Conduct
What you bring
- A current Australian driver's licence
- A roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- A valid NDIS Worker Screening clearance
- A valid Blue Card
- First Aid and CPR training, or willingness to complete it
A certificate or experience supporting people with disability is highly regarded, but any skill or experience level is encouraged to apply.
